  WSSV Primer
The WSSV Primer Set contains separate solutions of oligonucleotide primer pairs targeting nested regions of the White Spot Syndrome Virus (WSSV) VP466 gene (accession # EF564812). This gene encodes a viral structural protein located in the nucleocapsid (1). The WSSV amplicon produced using the WSSV-483 primer pair is 483 bp and the amplicon produced using the WSSV-388 primers is 388 bp. These WSSV amplicons have no significant homology to any other viral sequence. The Shrimp Positive Control primers included with the product were designed to the actin 1 gene (Accession # AF100986) from Penaeus monodon and will produce an amplicon of 248 bp from P. monodon and also from Penaeus vannamei. The Shrimp Positive Control primers are used to demonstrate successful extraction of DNA that is able to support PCR.

This product consists of three vials of oligonucleotide primers, each containing 0.5 mL of a mixture of Forward and Reverse primers. Each primer is at a concentration of 5 mM, in 10 mM Tris-CL pH 8 / 0.1 mM EDTA.
Store at -20¨¬C / 3 years SHELF LIFE

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE: Use 4 mL of each primer set per 40 mL PCR reaction, or 5 mL per 50 mL PCR reaction. The primers were designed to have standard annealing temperatures (55¡ÆC). The Shrimp Positive Control Primers may be used along with the WSSV Primers in multiplex PCRs to provide an internal positive control reaction for the presence of shrimp genomic DNA that is free from inhibitors and able to support PCR.
